Meet Dr. Michael Daniels, the current College-wide Chair for Business & Computer Science programs at Eastern Florida State College. Michael's humility, experience in education, community involvement, and core values are what make him the best choice to represent Orange County public schools in District 3.
Dedicated to Education
Michael and his wife of 25 years, Jennifer Daniels, share a love for teaching and learning. Not only does Michael hold a doctorate in education and teach collegiate courses, his wife has been a teacher in Orange County Public Schools for over 20 years! Mrs. Daniels has served at four elementary schools and was selected as Teacher of the Year at two of them!
for 24+ Years
Dr. Daniels has been a school volunteer since 1999, when he first began helping his wife, an OCPS teacher, chaperone field trips. Here is a photo of Michael chaperoning for a Pine Hills Elementary field trip in 1999. This is why Dr. Daniels believes parent engagement is so important. Parent and teacher partnerships lead to student success.
Michael & Jennifer have two children who graduated from Freedom High School in Orange County and are currently in college. One is a graduate student at Saint Leo University studying Computer Science, while the other is a senior at UCF's College of Engineering. Parent engagement in college and career planning is one of Michael's greatest passions!
During his free time, Michael enjoys state and national parks, football, fishing, and snow skiing. He is always up for a new adventure!
Trained & Qualified
Michael holds a Doctorate of Education in Higher Education from Nova Southeastern University, attended graduate school at Florida State University and completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Central Florida. Go Knights!
Dr. Daniels enjoys teaching as an Adjunct Professor of Business and Computer Sciences. His view into the college world is an important perspective for helping to create more pathways for student success. He believes every child is different and paths and opportunities should better reflect that.
A Servant's Heart
Michael has a servant's heart, helping to make the community better for all. He is a true role model who leads by example, whether that's as a SAC member for Orange Technical College, President of All Saints Lutheran Church, SAC Chair at Freedom High School, or Volunteer for "A Gift for Teaching".
